Bob Dold Secures Endorsement From Daily Herald

In the big race up in the 10th Congressional District on the North Shore, this is a big endorsement for Bob Dold and his campaign against Congressman Brad Schneider.

The Daily Herald picks Dold and says he's a better fit for the independent 10th:

But the reality is this: When Dold held the office, he maintained the district's tradition of independent representation, with a voting record that was one of the most bipartisan in Congress. In the two years that Schneider has held office, he has not. His voting record is considerably more party line, as a comparative review of The Washington Post's Congress Votes Database indicates. 

And unlike Rep. Tammy Duckworth, also a first-term Democrat in a neighboring district, he has not sought to forge the across-the-aisle relationships that can make him truly effective, particularly given his party's minority status in the House. 

Voters have a difficult choice between two capable candidates, but only one of these two candidates carries on the dynamic independent tradition of Mark Kirk and John Porter. That candidate is former Rep. Bob Dold, and we give him our endorsement.

As party members here at the Illinois Truth Team, we have to tell you that we're impressed with the job that Tim Schneider has done as the Illinois Republican Party Chairman.

He's organized the effort, stayed out of trouble, and importantly....he's outlined the issues that matter most and ones that - we as Republicans can win on.

The thing we like about Schneider's list is that it is simple.  It is easy to understand.  It is easy to remember.  This is what the ILGOP is all about.

That's the story we need to get across in these last 30-somdthing days.

• Less Wasteful Spending
• A Booming Economy
• Term Limits
• A Quality Education For Your Kids

Illinois Review: Republican Women Wrap-Up Weekend Tour

Over on the Illinois Review, they have photos of what looks like the final stop of their weekend tour that included stops around the State of Illinois. 

The Illinois Federation of Republican Women led a six-stop bus tour around the state Friday and Saturday featuring statewide candidates Paul Schimpf, Tom Cross, Mike Webster and Illinois Republican Party chairman Tim Schneider. 

On Friday, the tour started in Kankakee, went to Moline and finished the day in Peoria. Saturday, they stopped in Murphysboro, stopped in Champaign and ended up in Naperville.

Really nice effort to get out the vote and rally women voters in key areas of the state.  Glad to see this stuff happening for the party as we don't think this was happening four years ago.  Let's win this thing in November.  

Imagine That: Illinois Republicans Say They're "Courting Voters"

Instead of say...turning voters off?

We think this is a grand idea.  Refreshing to hear that Chairman Tim Schneider of the Illinois Republican Party is on-board with 'courting voters'.  As a party, we need all the votes we can get!

The head of the Illinois Republican Party says they are actively courting voters they haven’t in the past. Tim Schneider says they’re making a more concerted effort to reach out to women voters in the Chicago suburbs – and statewide – along with minority voters. 

“In the past we haven’t gone into those communities and worked hard to engage them and into our policies and our practices and I think we’re doing a much better job in this election,” said Schneider.
