College R's Show Recent Grads What Pat Quinn's Tax Increase Is Costing Them

The Illinois College Republicans have a nice piece up on Buzzfeed that shows young voters what exactly the tax increase is costing them.

With the tagline of 'let's put our money to better use', they point out other things folks can do with the extra cash they'd have if Pat Quinn and the Democrats didn't jack up our state income taxes.

Illinois College Republicans Latest: Get To Know #Quinnocchio

The Illinois College Republicans have done it again:  They've managed to pull together some devastating copy and hilarious images to tell a story voters in Illinois need to see.  Over on BuzzFeed, their latest piece starts thusly:

Once upon a time in a little village called Chicago there is a man named Quinnocchio also known by the name Pat Quinn. He is the governor of a state called Illinois. He became the governor after a man called Blagojevich was thrown into jail after trying to sell a Senate seat. Quinnocchio made many promises to the fine people of Illinois. He promised to not be corrupt like governors of Illinois’ past, to create jobs, to only temporarily raise taxes, and to improve education. We soon found out these were all lies.

Illinois College Republicans Join The Mike Frerichs Property Tax Fail Fun

The Illinois College Republicans are up with a sharp piece on Buzzfeed titled: "The World Has Changed Since Mike Frerichs Has Paid His Property Tax" where they take down Democrat candidate for Illinois State Treasurer for his failure to pay property taxes since 2007.

Illinois College Republicans Grow Membership, Release New Report

The Illinois College Republicans have come out with a report that details their early results of the group's new expansion effort in the run-up to the 2014 elections.  And the results are outstanding.  This group of operators is doing all the difficult work to pull the Illinois Republican Party out of the quagmire we're in.  They're recruiting new folks and are being smart about their process.

This is exactly right:

"The work our College Republicans are doing in this state will help us close the traditional gap in the youth vote and help the GOP to victory."

For the ILGOP to succeed, we need folks like the College Republicans to be building the base and building a strong organization.  They started the fall semester with 17 College Republican Chapters and now have added 13 new ones in just six months.  And...importantly, 1800 new members.

The critical piece of this project is that they did the outreach and grew the organization NOT during the election process/season, but rather in the year leading up to this critical campaign cycle.

From their release:  

Former Chairman Mick Paskiewicz added, "It was really critical for us to build our organization to be in position to with the youth vote before the campaign season - not during it like we had in the past. We put a program into place geared towards that goal, and while we still have vital steps we need to take, I'm really impressed with what Jesse and CRs across the state have done."
