Congressman Bill Enyart Is 'Part Of The Problem In Washington'

From the script:
Bill Enyart is part of the problem in Washington.
He’s voted with his party almost 90%.
Enyart voted to raise the debt ceiling 3 times.
To reward himself, he voted to keep first class airfare and special health care perks for Congress.
Bill Enyart, another politician wasting our tax dollars helping himself.

What Is Congressman Brad Schneider Hiding?

That's a question on the minds of voters all across the 10th District.  Why is our Congressman - Brad Schneider - not being honest with us?
“Brad Schneider has been trying to hide his family’s income because they invest in companies that are dangerous to America. We now know Brad invests in companies that send jobs to China and uranium companies that do business with Iran. It’s clear we can’t trust Brad Schneider’s judgment.”

Breaking: New Ann Callis and Mike Frerichs Campaign Theme Song: "All By Myself"

That's the famous 'four person' event that was described as "great" by the campaigns.

Courtesy of Katie Prill on Twitter, we get the new Ann Callis for Congress and Mike Frerichs for Treasurer campaign theme song.
Those Clintons and their Fleetwood Mac have nothing on Callis and Frerichs.  Enjoy the full song below:

Congressman Aaron Schock's Bet Pays Off: New Senior Deputy Whip Gig

Congressman Aaron Schock was working against his fellow member of the Illinois Congressional Delegation Peter Roskam last week in his bid to become the House GOP Whip.  Schock was with the guy from Louisiana.

There was plenty of speculation about what Schock was angling for in return for his loyalty.  Most folks thought he was going to get the plum job that Roskam was vacating:  Chief Deputy Whip.

Nope.  Schock didn't get that.  But he did get the next best thing.

From Lynn Sweet:
Incoming House Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., is replacing Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill., as chief deputy whip, tapping Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., for the post. Roskam, currently the chief deputy whip, lost his own bid to move up to the whip post last week with the Scalise victory. Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., an active Scalise supporter, was named by Scalise to be a senior deputy whip.

We have to think that this isn't the real 'prize' in Schock's mind.  He's thinking bigger.  As in Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.  That's where the money is...

Darlene Senger Right In the Race Against Bill Foster For Congress

Big news coming out of the Western Suburbs:  Congressional candidate Darlene Senger - having fought through a tough primary this Spring - is going to give Congressman Bill Foster a run for his money.

In an email newsletter sent out today with the subject line "Too Close to Call", Senger implores her supporters to double down their efforts to win this important seat in Congress:

Have you heard the news?  Today the National Republican Congressional Committee named me to the "Young Guns" list. This is a BIG deal because they only do this for the challenger races they think they can win and plan on working in.

This is great news for the campaign but it gets better from here.
My race for Congress is already starting to tighten and it is still June!  Just yesterday Crain’s released a poll showing that Bill Foster and I are neck and neck.  It is clear that voters are dissatisfied will Bill Foster’s record of more government, more taxes and more spending and are ready for a change.
This Morning on Capitol Fax, Rich Miller reported on the poll saying "That’s not good news for Foster at all"
This is HUGE news for our campaign and more reason why we need to get out there NOW!
And that is why I need your help today!  Your donation of $100 will help get my message of reducing spending, cutting taxes and balancing the budget out all over the 11th District.  Voters know it’s time for a change, electing the same people who created our country’s problems won’t be able to fix them.  Can I count on your support today?  A donation of $100 will go a long way in helping me defeat Bill Foster in November.

NRCC Chair Greg Walden - @votegregwalden - In Town to Support Candidates

Lynn Sweet at the Sun-Times is reporting that in addition to naming Darlene Senger and other Illinois Republican candidates to the NRCC 'Young Guns' Program, Greg Walden, the Chair of the NRCC is coming to town to demonstrate the national support of a handful of candidates here in Illinois.

From the S-T:
Greg Walden, R-Oregon, the chair of the House GOP political operation — the National Republican Campaign Committee --is traveling around Illinois on Thursday and Friday to fundraise and stump with five GOP House candidates in tight races.
"This is a battleground state for us again this cycle and we will continue to put a focus on ensuring victories in Illinois this November," NRCC spokesman Katie Prill told me.
You can check out the full schedule of events they have planned including one with each of:  Bob Dold, Darlene Senger, Mike Bost, Rodney Davis, and Bobby Schilling.

Darlene Senger Moving Up in NRCC "Young Guns" Program

Hot off the heels of her big win in the Republican Primary, Darlene Senger has received some great news out of the national party.  She's moving up and getting more support.

From the Darlene Senger for Congress site:
Today, the National Republican Congressional Committee announced that Darlene Senger has been elevated to ‘Contender’ in the NRCC’s ‘Young Guns’ program. The program helps to provide candidates and their campaigns the tools they need to run effective, successful and winning campaigns against their Democratic opponents. Originally founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Majority Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Budget Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program supports and mentors challenger and open-seat candidates in races across the country. Senger is running in the 11th Congressional District of Illinois.
Senger is running against Bill Foster for Congress.  Let's get involved in this race.  Head over to her site to get involved.  Or better yet?  Chip in $5 right now.

Dold, Shilling, Senger, Bost Announced by NRCC "Young Guns" Program

Yesterday, the National Republican Congressional Committee announced their first round of ‘On the Radar’ candidates ahead of the 2014 elections. The Young Guns program supports and mentors challenger and open-seat candidates in races across the country.

This 'On the Radar' stage is the 1st round.  Think of it like American Idol.  You can see the process laid out on the GOPYoungGuns.com site.

From the press release:
“These 36 candidates all provide a stark contrast to their liberal opponents, whose support of ObamaCare and this Administration’s big-government, job-destroying agenda has taken a toll on the American people,” said NRCC Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR). “With ObamaCare’s bad policies and botched rollout affecting families across our nation, and our country diving deeper into debt each and every day, it’s time to bring real change backed by conservative principles and priorities to Washington. I am confident that these candidates will continue to work hard for their communities and their campaigns as we head into the 2014 election year.”
This is particularly good news for Darlene Senger.  She's running in a contested primary for the Illinois 11th Congressional District, but getting this nod says that she has the organization in place and is doing everything right in terms of moving her campaign in the right direction.  The advise/counsel part of this is invaluable and Darlene Senger getting this recognition is going to help her fundraising, we would think.   Illinois Review covers the Senger angle and gets Katie Prill of the NRCC to discuss the Senger race in particular.

At the end of the day, Darlene Senger has (what appears to be) the support of the program.  See her "page" here on their site.    We don't see Burt Miller or Chris Balkema up there...

Bruce Dold and Bobby Shilling are both on the "Former Member" list, so they appear to be on a different track.   We'll be watching them and their campaigns closer this Spring.
