Susana Mendoza's Priorities As Illinois Comptroller?

Over on Facebook, our newly sworn-in Illinois State Comptroller Susana Mendoza just posted this doozy:

Curious use of the word 'official' in that post isn't it?  Either, she's just simply confused and didn't REALLY mean to say that one of her first 'official' events as the Illinois Comptroller is a fundraiser that she's throwing in her own honor...or....we, the taxpayers should interpret her use of 'official' to be a way of knowing her priorities.  As in....as the official IL Comptroller, she's officially jazzed to be able to raise boats of money for her campaign.

Which do you think it is?

Candidate Facebook Weekend: Schock, Bost, Cross, Topinka, Demmer, Dold, Kirk, Roskam, Mendoza, Rauner, Senger

This is the last weekend recap before tomorrow's General Election here in Illinois.  Let's take a spin around Facebook to see what the candidates were up to in the home stretch!

Congressman Aaron Schock joined Bruce and Diana Rauner and Lt. Governor candidate Evelyn Sanguinetti at a rally downstate.

Congressional candidate Mike Bost spent the weekend contacting voter door-to-door.

Treasurer candidate Tom Cross and Comptroller candidate Judy Baar Topinka joined forces for a tour of the state including a stop in Rockford...

Where they were joined by State Representative Tom Demmer:

Congressional candidate Bob Dold was joined by United States Senator Mark Kirk and Congressman Peter Roskam in the 10th District where they helped 'get out the vote' for Dold's campaign:

Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza attended the rugby game at Soldier Field this weekend.

Governor's candidate Bruce Rauner was joined by a big crowd at a rally in Hickory Hills:

And Congressional candidate Darlene Senger was joined by ILGOP Chairman Tim Schneider at her campaign HQ where volunteers were busy hitting the phones.

Candidate Facebook Weekend: Bost, Kirk, Cross, Rauner, Mendoza, Schock, Senger

It is Monday and that means one thing here on the Truth Team:  A round-up of what politicians were up to this weekend as posted to their Facebook pages.  Let's get after it:

Congressional candidate Mike Bost welcomed Congressman Mike Conaway to Pinckneyville to talk about agricultural issues.

US Senator Mark Kirk hit the campaign trail to support Tom Cross for Treasurer and Bruce Rauner for Illinois Governor.  These are three guys that Republicans should be proud to be leading our party. They're focusing on the important stuff and things that we can win on:  balanced budgets and cleaning up corruption.

Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza hung out with some of her strongest supporters in the 29th Ward and drank some purple soda.  We prefer the orange Faygo, Susana!  But...glad to see her out and about working hard to get re-elected.

Congressman Aaron Schock took some time away from his #Crossfit workout to to do something super important:  honoring 'Central Illinois Gold Star Families'.  Schock has been on a military kick lately and we're impressed to see him stand so strongly in support of our armed forces.  Good on you, Congressman!

Congressional candidate Darlene Senger was out at the Plainfield Homecoming Parade and despite the 40-degree temperatures, she didn't wear any earmuffs.  (But...we got reports from some folks that other candidates at the very same parade were rockin' Mike Frerichs' favorite headgear!)

Chicago City Clerk Susana Medoza Is Still Cooler Than You, Throws Out First Pitch At White Sox Game

Susana Mendoza continues to be a pretty cool City Clerk.  You'll remember she was rockin' out at the Jack White concert earlier this summer.  Then...Last night, she got to throw out the First Pitch at the White Sox game.

And she did it from the mound.

And hit the catcher's mitt without him running around to catch it.

Let us repeat that:  she threw the pitch FROM THE MOUND.

Pretty impressive.

She ain't no BabaBooey, that's for sure!

Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza Is Hipper Than You Are

If we were residents of Chicago, where would we want our City Clerk to be on a Thursday night?

This seems about right to us:

But one post isn't enough.

Good for you, Susana.  Hope Jack put on a good show.

Enjoy that City of yours.
